Robots - Drawing forms, shading and highlights

Using blocks the students spent several classes learning for to draw forms (shapes with the illusion of depth).  We took a look at certain properties of certain forms such as parallel lines, diagonal, horizontal, vertical lines.

Next we looked at how light casts shadows and highlights of the blocks. Using shading techniques with color pencils we worked on understanding the gradual pressure needed to increase the shade of a value.

Finally the student combined several blocks and their imaginations and created Robots using the techniques we learned to make them appear 3-D.  There were some really cool concepts for future Robot Engineers.
