Geometry in Art and Design

This project we explored a synthesis of art, patterns and design, geometry, origami, mathematics, and more.  By using paper plates to create 3-D geometric shapes.

We learned how to create a tetrahedron out of a equilateral triangle.  From that basic shape the children were encourage to explore and create other forms.

This work provides an in-depth exploration of the reformation and transformational nature of the circle, as well as demonstrates the pattern base for the geometric patterns observed in nature from folding circles. There are plenty  geometric and mathematical design and forms observed in nature and the circle as an abstract basis for construction of diagrams. Folding circles reveals patterns and how they are formed, reformed, and transformed.
