We read the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds and looked at how the character in the book created many art pieces from just one idea, a dot.

We brainstormed different shapes that they could use as a creative spark for their own artwork.  After practicing drawing different shapes, they choose the one they liked the best.

Next we used watercolor paints and explored how to display their ideas onto their final piece.  Some students choose to work with one type of shape, some choose to have many shapes, and some a different interpretation.
